In Washington, DC on Business? A Massage Might Be Exactly What You Need

Visiting Washington, DC for a conference, meetings, or business trip? Long flights, unfamiliar hotel beds, hours of sitting, and walking around the city can leave your body tight, tired, and stressed. Discover how a professional m2m therapeutic massage at Squire Massage can help you relax, recharge, and feel cared for while you’re away from home.

Turn Your Business Trip Into a Chance to Recharge

Washington, DC is a city that keeps you moving.

Maybe you flew into town for a conference. Maybe you have back to back meetings, presentations, networking events, dinners, and a packed schedule before heading home. Or perhaps you travel to Washington, DC regularly for work and already know how exhausting a few days in the city can become.

After sitting on a plane or train, carrying luggage, sleeping in an unfamiliar hotel bed, walking around the city, and spending hours sitting in meetings, your body may be telling you that it needs some attention.

That is where massage can make a big difference.

At Squire Massage, I provide professional m2m therapeutic massage for men 50 and over from my private home based studio in N.E. Washington, DC.

Instead of another evening sitting in your hotel room, give yourself a little time to relax, recharge, and feel cared for.

Business Travel Can Be Hard on Your Body

Travel takes a physical toll that we sometimes do not notice until the end of the day.

Hours spent sitting on a plane, train, or in meetings can leave your hips, lower back, shoulders, and neck feeling tight. Carrying luggage can add even more strain. Then there is the mental side of business travel: schedules, deadlines, unfamiliar surroundings, disrupted sleep, and constantly being "on."

Massage gives you an opportunity to disconnect from all of that for a while.

Depending on your individual needs, therapeutic massage may help:

• Ease tight and tired muscles
• Reduce neck, shoulder, and lower back tension
• Improve flexibility and mobility
• Promote relaxation
• Reduce the physical effects of prolonged sitting
• Help your body unwind after traveling
• Give you quiet time away from meetings, emails, and work responsibilities

And sometimes the biggest benefit is simply having nowhere else you need to be for the next hour or two.

What Is It Like?

If you have never visited a private massage studio before, you might be wondering how the experience compares with going to a large spa or massage chain.

Squire Massage is intentionally different.

My studio is private, cozy, warm, and welcoming. There is no crowded lobby, no front desk, and no rotating list of therapists.

It is just you, me, your massage therapist, and time specifically reserved for you.

When you arrive, we will talk about how your body is feeling, where you are experiencing discomfort, and what you would like to get from your session.

Maybe your lower back is bothering you after the flight.

Maybe your shoulders are tight from working on your laptop.

Maybe your legs are tired after walking around Washington, DC all day.

Or maybe nothing particularly hurts. You are simply exhausted and want to relax.

Your massage is personalized around what your body needs that day.

Warm. Comfortable. Unhurried.

I want walking into Squire Massage to feel like leaving the outside world behind for a while.

The studio features a heated massage table, warm towels, aromatherapy, Himalayan Salt Hot Stones, Plant Based Infused Massage Oil, and a Full Body Scrub, along with a comfortable environment designed to help you settle in, let go of the day, and relax.

There is also a private shower available.

You are not being moved through an assembly line of appointments. You are coming into a private space where your session receives my full attention.

Pressure can always be adjusted, and communication is encouraged throughout your massage. If something feels particularly good, tell me. If you would like more or less pressure, tell me. If you simply want to close your eyes and enjoy the quiet, you can do that too.

Some clients talk.

Some fall asleep.

Some moan.

Some drift back and forth between all three.

However you naturally relax is perfectly fine. The goal is for you to feel comfortable, cared for, and completely at ease.

What Should You Expect?

Before your first appointment, you will complete an intake form so I can learn more about your needs and anything that may affect your massage.

At the beginning of your appointment, we will briefly discuss your intake form and what you would like me to focus on.

Your session may incorporate different therapeutic techniques depending on your needs, including Swedish massage, deeper pressure, trigger point release, stretching, reflexology, or other techniques within my scope of practice.

Professional draping is used during the session, and your privacy is respected.

Most importantly, you receive the session time you booked.

Traveling Alone? This Can Be Your Reset.

One of the strange things about business travel is that your entire day can belong to everybody else.

Your company gets your morning.

Meetings get your afternoon.

Clients or colleagues may get your evening.

Your phone gets whatever time is left.

A massage gives some of that time back to you.

For 60, 90, 120 minutes, or even longer, there is nothing you need to accomplish. You do not need to impress anybody. You do not need to answer an email. You do not need to prepare for tomorrow's meeting.

You can simply lie down, relax, and let someone take care of you for a change.

What a Business Traveler's Experience Might Look Like

"I travel to Washington, DC several times a year for work, and after two days of meetings my neck and lower back are usually done. The studio felt warm, inviting, and comfortable as soon as I walked in. Marlon is a big guy, but he's soft spoken, has a beautiful smile, and immediately comes across as caring and nurturing. I felt at ease with him right away. The whole experience was much more personal than getting a massage at a hotel or chain spa. I left feeling loose, relaxed, and ready for the rest of my trip."

Jeff R., Pittsburgh, PA

"I booked a 90 minute massage after coming down from NYC and spending a full day in meetings. I wasn't looking for a big spa experience, but honestly, it felt like one. The massage room felt like a very cozy speakeasy, warm, private, comfortable, and tucked away from everything. The heated table, warm room, and Marlon's personal attention made a huge difference. I was finally able to shut my brain off and relax. I slept incredibly well that night."

Sam T., New York, NY

"I was in Washington, DC from Texas for a conference and decided to book some time for myself before flying home. Between the travel, hotel bed, and walking around the city, my body needed it. From the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable. Marlon's living room was so cozy, warm, and inviting, with beautiful plants throughout the space. I was able to unwind on the large sectional as we chatted and went over my intake form before the massage. Marlon and his place instantly put me at ease. The massage itself was just as relaxing. Everything felt private and welcoming, and I never felt rushed. It was one of the best decisions I made during my trip."

He Thought It Was His Neck. It Was His Jaw.

Jacob came in complaining about tension headaches and a stiff neck. Like many men, he assumed stress from work was settling into his shoulders and upper back. During our conversation, I asked if he ever caught himself clenching his jaw throughout the day. He laughed and said, “All the time.” What Jacob didn’t realize was that some of the tension he was feeling was coming from his jaw, temples, and face, not just his neck.

Most men never think about their jaw until something starts hurting. Long workdays, deadlines, traffic, family responsibilities, and everyday stress can cause us to clench our teeth and tighten facial muscles without even noticing it. Over time, that tension can contribute to headaches, facial fatigue, and discomfort. Some men even wake up with sore jaws from grinding their teeth while they sleep. The problem is many don’t connect those symptoms to stress.

That is one reason I added Facial Massage to the Squire Massage menu. This relaxing treatment focuses on the face, jaw, temples, scalp, and neck, areas where many men quietly carry stress. Clients are often surprised by how calming the experience feels and how much tension they have been carrying without realizing it.

After his session, Jacob told me, “I had no idea how much tension I was carrying in my jaw until it was gone.” Don shared a similar experience. He said, “I thought it would feel nice, but I didn’t expect it to be that relaxing. By the end of the session, I felt calmer than I had in weeks.” Comments like these are common because most men simply are not used to having those areas addressed.

Facial Massage is not about vanity. It is about relaxation, stress relief, and giving attention to a part of the body that is often overlooked. Many men leave feeling lighter, calmer, and more refreshed than they expected. Sometimes the stress you feel in your neck, shoulders, and head starts somewhere else entirely. Sometimes it starts with your jaw.

Most Fathers Need This More Than Another Tie

Most fathers do not need another coffee mug, tie, or gadget. They need time to rest, recover, and recharge. Discover why a three hour Deep Reset may be the Father’s Day gift he never knew he needed.

Father’s Day Massage for Men Over 50 in Northeast Washington, DC

Every year, fathers receive ties, coffee mugs, gift cards, and gadgets that often end up forgotten in a drawer. While those gifts may be appreciated, most fathers need something far more valuable. They need time to rest, recover, and recharge. As men get older, the effects of work, stress, exercise, travel, and everyday responsibilities begin to show up in the body. Tight shoulders, sore muscles, stiff joints, and poor sleep become common complaints that many men simply learn to live with. It does not have to be that way.

This Father’s Day, give yourself permission to stop pushing through and finally give your body the attention it has been asking for. Taking care of yourself is not selfish. It is one of the smartest investments you can make in your health, mobility, and overall quality of life. When your body feels better, everything else becomes easier. You move more comfortably, sleep more deeply, and enjoy more energy throughout the day. Self care is an important part of aging well.

At Squire Massage, located in Northeast Washington, DC near Gallaudet University and Union Market, many of the men I work with arrive carrying months or even years of accumulated tension. They are professionals, retirees, business owners, educators, healthcare workers, and fathers who have spent most of their lives taking care of everyone else. Their shoulders are tight. Their lower backs ache. Their stress levels are high. They often tell me they wish they had started making massage therapy a regular part of their self care routine much sooner.

One of the most popular experiences for men seeking deeper relaxation and relief is The Deep Reset. This three hour therapeutic massage experience combines focused bodywork, Himalayan Salt Hot Stones, aromatherapy, reflexology, assisted stretching, and Plant Based Infused Oil in a calm and unhurried environment. Throughout the session, you will relax on a comfortably heated massage table designed to help your muscles release tension and encourage your body to settle into a deeper state of relaxation. The goal is simple. Help your body release stress, improve mobility, reduce muscle tension, and encourage a greater sense of well being. Unlike shorter sessions, The Deep Reset gives your body the time it needs to fully let go.

“I spent years putting everyone else first and ignoring my own aches and pains. The Deep Reset gave me the chance to slow down, relax, and focus on myself for a change. I left feeling refreshed, recharged, and wondering why I waited so long to book.”
— Dexter T., Washington, DC

What makes a three hour massage experience so effective is the ability to address multiple areas of concern without feeling rushed. Many men over fifty carry tension in their neck, shoulders, back, hips, and legs simultaneously. A longer session allows for deeper therapeutic work while maintaining a relaxing pace that helps calm the nervous system. Clients frequently report improved sleep, reduced muscle tension, increased flexibility, and a greater sense of overall well being after their session. For many men, it is the first opportunity they have had in a long time to completely disconnect and focus on themselves.

If you are searching for therapeutic massage in Washington, DC, men’s massage near Union Market, massage near Gallaudet University, or massage therapy in Northeast Washington, DC, Squire Massage offers a private and professional experience designed specifically for men. Whether you are looking for stress relief, muscle recovery, relaxation, or simply time to disconnect from the demands of daily life, massage can play an important role in helping you feel your best.

This Father’s Day, and any day you decide your body deserves more attention, consider giving yourself the gift of a Deep Reset. Better yet, consider giving that gift to a father, husband, partner, brother, or friend who spends so much time taking care of others that he rarely takes time for himself. His body has carried him through decades of work, responsibilities, challenges, and accomplishments. It deserves care, recovery, and attention. Most fathers need this more than another tie.

Sessions are limited and available by appointment only. When you are ready to book your next session, visit www.SquireMassage.com.
